2歳ごろから取り組みたい！
2歳ごろからはじめれば一番効果が得られたのではないかと思います。 ママのセリフは誉め言葉も含めて全て書いてある通りに読めばよいので、 英語育児を始めたばかりのママにもとてもよい教材です。 毎日1レッスン15分程度（2歳児ぐらいの場合）で終わらせることができるでしょう。 英語の読みへの導入に素晴らしい本だと思います。
Highly recommended book!
I ought this ook upon the ecommendation of a f iend who was using it with he own son. My daughte was then 4 yea s old (now she's 5), and had sta ted to show inte est in eading y sounding out 2 to 3-lette wo ds that she'd see a ound he . She al eady knew phonics and liked to do alpha et wo k ooks even efo e I ought this ook. What I liked a out this ook is its st uctu ed and easy-to-follow p og am. It does entail a lot of patience and effo t f om the pa ent. Being a full-time wo king mom (incidentally, I teach English to p e-schoole s), this ook wo ked est fo me and my daughte . We spent a out 10 to 15 minutes each night fo each lesson, and as we p og essed, same time fo just half a lesson. My daughte 's favo ite pa t is the sto y text, which gets longe and mo e difficult as you go along, and the accompanying pictu e comp ehension. You don't have to follow the sc ipt wo d fo wo d (I did not), and you could skip some nights if you child is not up to it (I did). It took us 7 whole months to finish the ook (just efo e my daughte 's 5th i thday), ut it was well wo th it. My effo ts, as well as my daughte 's, paid off. Even efo e we finished the ook, my daughte was a le to ead "ea ly eade s" ooks. I'm glad she has ecome a vo acious eade . Now SHE eads to me efo e she goes to ed eve y night, instead of the othe way a ound! I do highly ecommend this ook.
そのまま読み聞かせれば、リーディング力がつく本
この本は本当によくできていて、教えるべきことがセリフのように書かれているので、そのまま読めばよいようになっています。もちろんセリフは英語ですが、Sound out the wo d～とかTake a good look at～とか定型のものばかりなのでそれほど難しくはありません。また、Good Reading!などとホメどころまで書いてあります。基本的にはフォニックスですが、例外が結構多いフォニックスの欠点をカバーするため、特殊な記号とアルファベットを組み合わせて、一文字一発音を実現しています。例えば、通常のaはア、上に線がついているaはエイ（サイレントeがついているときの発音）と別文字表記になっています。

おもしろいけど・・！
さまざまなシチュエーションでの遊びがたくさん載っているし、ほとんど家庭にあるものを利用できるので参考になります。ただ、悲しいかな、日本とアメリカの生活様式、もしくは文化の違いのせいでしょうか、「こんな遊びはできないよ～」というのもちらほら。（例えばホースで水鉄砲なんて、マンション住まいの我が家には夢のはなしだし、スパゲッティスプラッシュ（スパゲテッティプールのようなもの？）なんて気分的にできません）。 情報収集＋読んで楽しむを半々くらいでよむといいと思います。
